About this opening
In the Queen's Gambit Accepted (1.d4 d5 2.c4 dxc4), Black gives up the center to develop the pieces quickly and aim for the freeing ...c5 break. Black does not try to hold the c4 pawn, but to balance the game through activity. Solid and logical, this system was used by world champions from Capablanca to Anand, and remains a reliable answer to the Queen's Gambit.
