About this opening

The Classical Variation (4.Qc2) is one of the most popular replies to the Nimzo-Indian: by defending the c3 knight with the queen, White avoids doubled pawns after ...Bxc3 and keeps the bishop pair along with a solid center. The price is a slight delay in development. The play, rich and balanced, pits the long-term advantage of the bishops against the dynamism of Black's pieces.
