About this opening

The Classical Variation of the Dutch deploys ...e6, ...Be7, ...d6 and ...O-O in a harmonious scheme, before seeking a kingside attack with the ...Qe8-h5 queen maneuver and the ...e5 push. More measured than the Leningrad but more ambitious than the Stonewall, it favors natural piece development. It is a good compromise to approach the Dutch with clear plans and controlled risk.
