About this opening
The Bogo-Indian Defense (1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nf3 Bb4+) offers a sound, low-theory game: with the b4 check, Black disrupts White's development and prepares a solid structure, often with ...d5 or ...b6. It is an economical alternative to the Nimzo-Indian when White plays 3.Nf3. Efim Bogoljubov, twice a challenger to Alekhine, gave it his name.
