About this opening
Fool's Mate illustrates the fastest possible loss in chess: after 1.f3 e5 2.g4?? Qh4#, White is checkmated in two moves. The pawn moves f3 and g4 fatally open the diagonal toward the king, with no defense possible. More a lesson than an opening, it shows why weakening the squares around your king so early is so dangerous. A great teaching classic.
