About this opening
The Hammerschlag (1.f3 e5 2.Kf2), also called the “hammer-blow” opening, is one of the most eccentric there is: White plays f3 then moves the king, giving up castling and all sense of opening play. Objectively very bad, this move only appears in bet games or to amuse the crowd. It mostly serves to illustrate, by absurdity, the importance of castling and king safety.
