About this opening
The Four Pawns Attack (4.c4 Nb6 5.f4) takes the Alekhine's logic to the extreme: White builds a colossal center on c4, d4, e5 and f4. This is exactly the challenge Black was looking for, hurrying to undermine it with ...d6, ...c5 and ...f6. A double-edged position par excellence, it can collapse like a house of cards or crush the opponent depending on the precision of play.
