About this opening
The Siberian Attack brings the queen out very early to d3 (1.d4 Nf6 2.Nc3 d5 3.Qd3), hence the “Amazon” nickname for the queen. The idea is to support an e4 push and surprise the classical replies to the queen's pawn. Developing the queen so soon, however, goes against opening principles: Black develops with gain of tempo and equalizes easily. A surprise weapon, nothing more.
